Please join us for an exciting lecture and slide presentation on the life and works of Canada's leading female artist. Emily Carr's deep emotional attachment to nature brought forth a multitude of art depicting Canadian landscapes of First Nation villages, dark forests, and vast skies. This 60 minute lecture will be presented by Sonia Halpern, whose passion for Art History at University of Western Ontario has won her numerous teaching awards along with the honorary title of most "popular profs" according to Maclean's Guide to Canadian Universities. Organized and circulated by the Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant, this exhibition brings together interactive, tactile works selected to reveal new ways of seeing to sighted viewers and are equally accessible to visually impaired visitors.
