Free Event: Community Garden Walking Tour. August 9, 2009
| Description | Get started growing your own food, with your friends and neighbours! A walking tour of three community gardens in London. Date: Sunday, August 9th Starts: 2:00 PM, at Peace Gardens, Forks of the Thames, West end of King St. Ends: 5:00 PM back at Peace Gardens, with shared refreshments and conversation. Description: Get to know three Community Gardens on this gentle family-friendly walking tour, which will visit the Forks of the Thames, Ann Street, and Blackfriars Community Gardens, with knowledgeable guest speakers and a chance to chat with local gardeners at each stop on the tour. We will end up back at the Peace Gardens, with a social gathering featuring local fruit and refreshments. 11th Annual DIG DEEP! for YOU Beach Volleyball Tournament. August 15, 2009
| Description | SEE YOU ON THE SAND IN PORT STANLEY! Youth Opportunities Unlimited invites to take part in the 11th Annual DIG DEEP! For YOU BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT, Saturday August 15th, 8:30am to 5:30pm at G.T.’s Beach Bar and Grill, Port Stanley. Competitive and Recreational teams of four and six will square off on the beach. The morning will begin with a complimentary continental breakfast and registration at 8:30am. The day will wrap up with an awards ceremony at 5:30pm. ROGERS is lead sponsor for this Youth Opportunities Unlimited fundraiser. Sponsors include G.T.’s PORT STANlEY, SPIKE’S INDOOR BEACH VOLLEYBALL, GoodLife Fitness, 3M, THE NEW 1031 fresh FM and FM 96.
