Alva Noto (Carsten Nicolai) and Byetone (Olaf Bender) are two of the most important multidisciplinary artists of their generation. As musicians they are world renowned for their ground breaking experimental electronic music. They are the founders of the highly influential RASTER-NOTON recording label. Nicolai and Bender are also successful visual artists with Nicolai representing Germany at important international exhibitions including Documenta X and the 49th and 50th Venice Bienniale.
Alva Noto and Byetone have performed at such prestigious venues as: the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, at Centre Pompidou in Paris, at Kunsthaus Graz and at Tate Modern in London.
