| Description | Children’s Classes & Workshops Drawing and Painting with Inspiration (ages 7-12) Students will develop their drawing and painting skills while exploring the work of some of the great Master Painters. Fundamentals of drawing including line drawing, shade and shadow, texture and colour will be explored. Students of any ability are welcome to have fun and learn in this creative class environment. 6 weeks, Mondays 4:30-6 pm, (No class Family Day, February 15, 2010) January 18 – March 1, 2010 $85.00 Gallery Members, $95.00 Non-Members All materials supplied Illustration and Cartooning Class (ages 7-12) Back by popular demand this class will allow the opportunity to explore your drawing skills through character development, and lots of drawing! Lead by local professional illustrator Todd Mulligan. Come to develop and improve your drawing skills while having fun. Students of any ability are welcome. 6 weeks, Thursdays, 7- 8:30 pm January 21– February 25, 2010 $85.00 Gallery Members, $95.00 Non-Members All materials supplied March Break 2010 March Break Art Camp for ages 7-12, March 15-19 A creative break from school for children at their neighborhood Art Gallery. Each day your child can discover a new artistic medium with a different artist/educator. $30.00/Day or $135.00/Week Gallery Members, $35.00/Day or $160.00/Week Non Members Adult’s Classes & Workshops (teens welcome) Printmaking for Teens and Adults with Lucinda Jones The January exhibit Water Mark showcases the work of local printmakers. Inspired by this creative medium this class will explore a variety of printmaking techniques including mono prints and relief prints. No experience necessary, all are welcome. | Description | Spring Education Programs Announced Explore and Create Art at Gallery Stratford Become a Gallery member and receive discounts on programs Children’s Classes & Workshops Mixed Media and Collage (ages 7-12) This class encourages students to sample a variety of subject matter and media such as drawing, painting and sculpture. Students learn about colour, composition while working with a wide range of materials and methods in a fun and creative atmosphere. 6 weeks, Mondays, 4:30-6:00 pm April 12 - May 17, 2010 Cost: $85 Gallery - Member, $ 95 Non- Member All materials provided Still Life, Landscape and In Between (13-16 years) Develop skills in drawing and rendering while exploring perspective drawing, composition, shade and shadow. Mediums that will be explored include; conté, inks, pencil crayons, and pastels. 6 weeks, Thursdays 4:30-6:00 pm April 8 – May 13 Cost: $85 Gallery Member, $ 95 Non-Member All materials provided Teens and Adult Classes Beginner Photography for Teens and Adults Photography for SLR cameras. Get comfortable with your camera and learn how to take great photographs with local photographer Terry Manzo. Tuesdays, Starting, 7-9:30 pm + One 3 hour Saturday, TBA April 20 – May 18, 2010 Cost: $100 Gallery Member, $115 Non-Member Intermediate Photography for Teens and Adults Intermediate Photography for SLR cameras. Continue to learn about your camera and expand on how to take great photographs with local professional photographer Terry Manzo. Please bring your camera and manual to class. Tuesdays, Starting, 7-9:30 pm + One 3 hour Saturday, TBA May 25 – June 22, 2010 $100 Gallery Member, $115 Non-Member Anatomy for Artists for Teens and Adults, with Katherine Willmore Ph.D. The aim of this course is to provide the artist with a foundation of the anatomy and biomechanics of the entire human body, thereby informing the artist on how to portray realistic dynamic forms and enhance perception of detail and proportion. Divided over a period of six weeks, the body will be explored from head to toe, emphasizing how different muscles and bones work in unison to create movement. This course will not provide any drawing or sculpting instruction, though participants are welcome to draw if they like. Bring your sketchbook. Thursdays, Starting 7-9 pm April 8- May 13, 2010 $85.00 Gallery Member, $95.00 Non-member Water Colour Workshop for Teens and Adults with Teddy Payne Continue to learn about water colour painting. Relationships: We Can't Live Without Them. April 8, 2010
| Description | “Relationships: We Can't Live Without Them,” which will include three weekly 45 to 60 minute presentations followed by a 30 to 45 minute Q&A session, kicks off Thursday, April 1 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the London Central Library (251 Dundas Street) in the Stevenson and Hunt Room A. Please note that two hours of free validated parking is available in Citi Plaza during library hours. "The Greatest Gift you will ever Give your Child" considers how we interact with our children in their first year of life teaches them what to expect from others, and will affect how they think and manage their emotions for the rest of their life. Moran will explore the nature of this first relationship, its function for the child, and how it is shaped by our first interactions with our babies. |

Relationships: We Can't Live Without Them. April 15, 2010
| Description | A new lecture series, presented by faculty members from the Department of Psychology at The University of Western Ontario, will help shed some light on how we influence and are influenced by each other, and how social relationships have the power to both hurt and heal. “Relationships: We Can't Live Without Them,” which will include three weekly 45 to 60 minute presentations followed by a 30 to 45 minute Q&A session, kicks off Thursday, April 1 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the London Central Library (251 Dundas Street) in the Stevenson and Hunt Room A. Children spend a great deal of time interacting with peers throughout childhood and adolescence. What are the effects of these experiences? What happens when peer relationships go wrong?
