| Description | The Canadian Cancer Society is actively seeking fighters for Relay For Life 2010. This 12-hour, overnight event is the biggest cancer fundraiser in Canada that makes the biggest difference — and it’s perfect for all ages. It is a non-competitive event where teams of 10 to 15 fighters (family, friends, neighbours, colleagues) rally together to make cancer history. The average Relay For Life participant raises $245, so challenge your fellow fighters to beat that total. Your team can make a huge difference! The Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is more than just a fundraiser – it’s a unique and unforgettable way to pick a fight against cancer. This event will challenge you to put your best foot forward: to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer and fight back to help make cancer history. Cruizin' for Cystic Fibrosis. June 20, 2010
| Description | A FULL DAY OF AUTOMOTIVE FUN It's gonna be a great day! Everyone can participate with ANY vehicle. This event has a slalom course, Hot Laps on a Professional Oval Track, Road Rally, Two Meals, Auctions, Prizes, Exhibits and even a few surprises along the way! Cruizin' for CF Itinerary THE STARTING LINE 8:00 a.m. - 3M Anniversary Park (east off Clarke Rd, 300m north of Oxford St. E., London) • Full Pancake Breakfast • Valuable Cruizin’ Navigator packages for each registered driver. • Win prizes on a leisurely Road Cruize (rally) to several iconic destinations in and around London. Cruizin’ with W.O.S.C.A. • Cruizin’ for CF is proud to be in partnership with WOSCA again for 2010. As one of our most popular Cruizin’ activities, registered drivers are given an exclusive opportunity to choose how they wish to participate. • As a driver, you may take your vehicle on several runs and try to beat your best time. • If you prefer, you may drive shotgun with a professional WOSCA member in their vehicle. • All Cruizin’ for CF participants can watch, take pictures and cheer on their favourite vehicles and drivers from our observation area. • This event is organized under the supervision of experienced WOSCA members and is run under the general competition rules of the Canadian Autosport Clubs (CASC), the Canadian motorsport governing body. • WOSCA is a full member of the national CASC (Canadian Automobile Sports Clubs) organization. • WOSCA organizes and participates in Solo I events ('one car at a time' timed runs on a race track), Solo II events (parking lot slaloms), race track 'lapping days' and navigational rallies. Several social events are also held at various times. WOSCA members also participate in racing at Delaware Speedway and road racing tracks throughout Ontario and Michigan. Fun! Fun! Fun! Delaware Speedway • Exclusive access for Cruizin’ for CF participants to drive vehicle on a professional oval track. • Situated minutes from London, this 1/2 mile, oval, asphalt, track features CASCAR sanctioned stock car racing is a great way to experience your vehicle's performance. • For more than 55 years, Delaware Speedway has been the home to some of the finest stock car racing in Canada. Its unique natural amphitheatre-like setting allows a family or group of friends to enjoy an exciting, comfortable and affordable night (or day!) of entertainment. Cruizin’ for CF Road Cruize • The ‘CF Road Cruize’ is a road rally that is designed to provide a set of directions to navigate each ‘Cruizin for CF’ participant from venue to venue while providing an entertaining challenge along the way. • The Road Cruize will take your vehicle on a guided tour between venues, to several iconic locations in and around London. • Contained within this simple set of directions are questions to which the answers can be observed as you drive the route. • Upon completion of the Road Cruize, each participant will submit their completed rally sheet to the Road Cruize Director. All scores will be tallied based on the number of correct answers. Note: Only the answers will be used for scoring and not points will be awarded for how fast or slow you complete the rally. • It is not a timed event, and drivers are encouraged to drive leisurely. • The best score of the day receives a great prize! We Make London Summer Spectacular. June 26, 2010
| Description | This summer the team behind the hugely successful ‘We Make’ designer craft shows will offer shoppers the chance to wrap up all their summer shopping in the serene surroundings of charming Chelsea Town Hall. In December We Make London hosted their biggest and best fair to date; this was their 5th fair and the first at Chelsea Town Hall. Due to the huge success and demand they are back with their Summer Spectacular. We Make London was formed by a group of like-minded designer makers with a can do attitude, united by the lack of affordable places to sell their products. A year and half and five successful events later, We Make is now the showcase for the talents and crafts of the most exciting UK designers. Lose yourself in the glorious surroundings of Chelsea Town Hall, one of London’s most beautiful building interiors. With original oil paintings, columns and fire places it sets a magical scene for a wonderful summer fair. Browse and buy for the whole family with over 80 hand picked exhibitors to choose from and a wide range of eco-friendly hand-crafted gifts ideas including jewellery, fashion, graphic art, fine art, bath and body, toys, children's clothing. We Make London makes a superb family day out with craft activities for the kiddies and will be serving up a delicious menu of traditional home baking and treat’s in the cosy café.
