RBC Painting Competition National Exhibition Tour. October 22, 2008 — November 2, 2010
| Description | An eight-city exhibition tour showcasing the work of the 15 semi-finalists of the RBC Canadian Painting Competition stops in London. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the competition aims to raise the awareness of emerging Canadian visual artists. Governor General Michaëlle Jean announced Jeremy Hof from Vancouver as the national winner and Amanda Reeves from Oakville and Will Murray from Montreal as the honourable mentioned. An unprecedented $145,000 in prize money was awarded for this year, including $25,000 to the winner, $15,000 to each of the honourable mentioned and $7,500 to the remaining semi-finalists. |

| Description | SWING INTO SCOUTING DRIVE-IN & SLEEP OVER AT THE MUSTANG DRIVE-IN # 2 THEATRE, IN LONDON, ONTARIO ON OCTOBER 2, 2010 WE'LL BE WATCHING DESPICIBLE ME & IRON MAN 2 There will be door Prizes for the Largest Group Attending, Furthest Traveled, & Best laid out camp, as well as other random prizes! Cost for this event will be $5.00 per person (#2 theatre will be closed to the general public) Special Food Pricing for this event: Drink, Fries, & Hamburg for $10.00 popcorn & drink for $7.00 (Food Tickets will be available through me) All members of Scouting and Guiding are welcome: Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Ventures, Rovers, Leaders, all Guiding Sections, and of course Parents and their siblings This is a Scouting event so Uniforms will be required on arrival. Leader/Youth Ratio to be followed as well as BP&P. Camp set up will be from 5:00pm-7:00pm, followed by opening fire, and movie to start at dusk. THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT So come for 1 movie, come for 2 movies, or come for the night… It’s totally up to you! | Description | Join us for an evening of great music and a fun sushi making workshop all rolled up into one great cause, Rock Camp for Girls London (RC4GL)! What is RC4GL? RC4GL is a new initiative being started up in the London community. The idea originated from “Rock N Roll Camp For Girls” which was first held in 2001, in the United States at Portland State University Campus. The idea is being introduced by Laurie McColman, a local businesswoman and operator of Marigold Studios, located in London, Ontario. The goal of the camp is to teach girls and young women individuality and about finding their voice and expressing themselves in a positive manner through the use of various music genres including rock!
