| Description | From deconstructive silk screening to embossing and more, students will discover a dynamic mix of methods for creating on fabric and paper. Whether you choose to take all six workshops or select your favourites, you won’t want to miss out on this one of a kind surface design experience. | Description | The Engaged Volunteer: Appeal to self-interest? Event Date: February 16, 2011 Many argue that volunteer rates are falling. They complain that people today won’t make commitments to a cause. But what makes a volunteer program successful? Is it participation rates? Is it long-term commitments? Is it the number of walls that were painted? Volunteers also want to know what’s in it for them. Yep, it’s true. But self-interest isn’t the problem. It’s the solution. Join us for a provocative session where we will explore how volunteers' "self-interest" is the solution to finding, keeping and managing volunteers.
